Persuading people to change the status quo requires appealing to the heart before the head. Jay will share stories from his experiences in consulting and corporate finance. Jay Koo is a retired corporate finance executive with three decades of experience driving innovation and high-impact solutions within large, complex healthcare organizations. In his most recent position as Executive Director of Finance at Kaiser Permanente, he directed a team overseeing $2 billion in annual operating budgets and 4,300 employees. He also held key roles in assessing and approving early-stage innovations aimed at improving health outcomes. His earlier work included serving as a Senior Associate in the corporate venture capital division of a major publicly traded technology firm, an analyst for a real estate private equity company, and a management consultant. Jay currently sits on the Board of Directors for Asian Health Services in Oakland, California, which assists low-income, medically underserved Asian American and Pacific Islander communities. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from Northwestern University and an M.B.A. from Cornell, where he was a Park Leadership Fellow.
