Safety on EduHookup

EduHookup is made for student connections, but every online meetup should be handled carefully. Use common sense, protect your personal information, and meet in public campus-friendly places when meeting someone new.

Meet in public first

Choose visible places like libraries, coffee shops, student centers, campus events, or other well-populated areas.

Protect your info

Do not share passwords, financial details, private addresses, class schedules, or sensitive personal information with someone you just met.

Trust your gut

If a message feels pushy, strange, manipulative, or unsafe, stop responding and report or block the person when tools are available.

Student safety guidelines

For first meetings, tell a friend where you are going, keep your phone charged, and arrange your own transportation.

For buying, selling, or exchanging items, meet in a public area and inspect items before handing over money. Avoid wire transfers, gift cards, crypto payments, or anything that feels like a scam.

For dating, friends, study buddies, roommate/social posts, and activity partners, move at your own pace. A real connection does not require rushing, secrecy, or pressure.
