Event details Date: Thursday, October 15, 2026 Time: 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM Location: None Type: Lecture / Workshop About this event Strongly correlated oxide materials exhibit a wide range of emergent quantum phenomena arising from the interplay of charge, spin, orbital, and lattice degrees of freedom. In this talk, I will present our recent studies of layered ruthenates using synchrotron-based angle- and spin-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES/SARPES), thin-film epitaxy, and quantum transport measurements. I will discuss the layer-dependent electronic structure and spin polarization of the triple-layered ruthenate Sr₄Ru₃O₁₀ [1], followed by recent advances in the epitaxial growth, strain-engineered electronic structure, and magnetotransport properties of Sr₃Ru₂O₇ thin films [2,3]. I will also highlight our development of an in situ CO₂-laser substrate preparation methodology for achieving atomically controlled oxide surfaces for high-quality epitaxial growth [4]. Together, these studies demonstrate how epitaxial and interface engineering can be used to uncover and control emergent phenomena in quantum materials. References [1] P.
