Dosage Calculations Basics

Event details Date: Thursday, October 22, 2026 Time: 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM Location: ALT A220 Academic Success Center About this event This session provides students aspiring to gain entry into SSC's nursing program and those needing extra support with their dosage/pharmacy calculations coursework the chance to review essential topics. ASC staff will review prescriptions and drug labels, terminology, and unit conversions. They will also demonstrate how to use the formula D/H x Q = X to calculate drug dosages accurately. Participants may request that staff cover unit conversions and medical terminology, related to dosage calculations during these sessions. At the session's end, ASC staff will be available for a brief Q&A. We encourage students to return to the ASC for individual/group study and to work with our staff.
