Mental Health First Aid Training (SSC)

Event details Date: Friday, October 2, 2026 Time: 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM About this event Mental Health First Aid Training Description: Regardless of our role at the college, we may find ourselves in a position where a student reaches out to us or we notice that they may be struggling. Similar to CPR or First Aid training, Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is an 8-hour, internationally recognized training that teaches participants how to recognize signs and symptoms of mental health challenges, respond with confidence, and connect individuals with appropriate support and resources. MHFA provides practical tools to help faculty and staff feel more confident recognizing signs that a student may be struggling and knowing how to respond. The training will also include an overview of Seminole State's mental health and support services, so participants are familiar with the resources available to students and know how to help connect them to the right support. Thanks to funding through Ally's Hope Grant and the Foundation of Seminole State College, there is no cost for faculty and staff to participate . We hope you'll take advantage of this opportunity to build skills that can make a meaningful difference for our students.
