About this event
Anne Gulick's research explores where, how, and why the institution of the university appears in Anglophone African literary texts. African literature, she argues, has a crucial contribution to make to current global conversations about the meaning of the university's past, present, and future. When African literature "does" Critical University Studies, it yields a capacious, unwieldy, and especially potent set of resources for understanding what it means to resist, abolish, decolonize, or simply survive this institution in our postcolonial, neoliberal present.
