Title:
A complete view of SN 2024ggi: Observations from progenitor to the nebular phase.
Abstract:
SN 2024ggi is one of the nearest Type II supernovae discovered in recent years, providing an exceptionally detailed view of its evolution from the first hours after explosion to the nebular phase. In this talk, I will present observations spanning these different evolutionary stages. Early high-resolution spectroscopy and pre-explosion imaging probe the progenitor and its final stages of mass loss. As the supernova evolved through the plateau phase, its well-sampled light curve allowed us to model the explosion hydrodynamically and constrain the progenitor properties. Finally, optical and near-infrared nebular spectroscopic observations provide independent constraints on the progenitor mass, evidence for asymmetric ejecta, molecule formation, and dust formation. Together, these observations provide a comprehensive picture of the progenitor, explosion, and late-time evolution of SN 2024ggi.
