Dave and Katie Blackburn for an evening to share a meal, make some snacks, talk about Gainesville's best food, and learn tips to get involved in research on campus. Katie is the Associate Director of Research Strategy and Management in the UF College of Medicine's Office of Research where she leads a team partnering with faculty, administration, staff, and leadership partners to attract research funding, increase UF's competitiveness, create research relationships, and foster innovation. Dave is a professor in the Florida Museum of Natural History where he serves as the curator of amphibians and reptiles, department chair, and the Associate Director of Research & Collections. In addition to being an evolutionary biologist who studies frogs, his role includes overseeing the museum's broad research mission including training of graduate and undergraduate students.
