About this event
Writer, curator, and cultural historian Alfredo Villar presents Neon Chicha: Counter‑Aesthetics from Peruvian Pop(ular) Art— an exploration of how chicha graphics emerged as the first great visual conquest of a mass that overflowed, invading cities and transforming their peripheries into new centers of creativity. He addresses the movement's roots in internal migration, its popular aesthetic, and its significance as a form of cultural resistance and identity formation.
Villar is joined in moderated conversation by the artist MONKY.
A DJ set of Peruvian chicha closes the event.
