Desde 74 approaches mentorship through alumni engagement, first-year mentorship, outreach to future Illini, and the empowerment of our upperclassmen to serve as mentors. While the program has evolved over the years—from the Peer Retention Program in the 80s and 90s to the ACE (Advising, Connecting, Empowering) mentorship program—its foundation in mentorship and student empowerment has remained constant, leading us to reimagine mentoring through Desde 74 welcoming our largest matches of mentors & mentees in 2024-2025.
