About this event
Break Into Sports. Learn How Deals Actually Get Done.
Want to break into the sports industry while gaining real startup and sales experience?
Join Thumbo, a sports technology company helping professional sports organizations better understand and engage their fans through interactive digital experiences and first-party data.
Thumbo has worked with organizations including Unrivaled Basketball, BIG3, and SMX SuperMotocross, putting our team at the intersection of sports, technology, fan engagement, and business development.
We’re recruiting USC students for our Sales Internship Program to work directly with Thumbo’s founders and help grow our relationships across the sports industry.
This isn’t a busywork internship. You’ll learn how a startup actually identifies opportunities, gets in front of decision-makers, starts conversations with sports executives, and turns those conversations into partnerships.
During the session, we’ll cover:
How Thumbo works with teams, leagues, and sports organizationsHow we’ve built relationships with organizations like Unrivaled, BIG3, and SMXHow we identify and connect with decision-makers across sportsWhat you’ll learn: prospecting, outreach, messaging, relationship-building, and sales strategyWhat we’re looking for in our next group of USC internsHow to apply and stand out
Who should attend?
USC students interested in sports, startups, sales, marketing, entrepreneurship, or technology, especially people who are ambitious, outgoing, persistent, and comfortable putting themselves out there.
No previous sales experience is required. We care much more about curiosity, work ethic, communication skills, and a willingness to learn.
If you’ve ever thought, “I want to work in sports, but I don’t know how to get my foot in the door,” this is an opportunity to start building real experience and relationships inside the industry.
